The Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services (MCCSS) has launched their child welfare engagement campaign to gain insights that will help transform and strengthen Ontario’s child welfare system to give every child, youth and family the support they need to succeed and thrive.
Through direct engagement with key stakeholders, in-person meetings with children’s aid societies across the province and an online survey for youth, families and front-line staff, the Ministry’s goal is to “modernize services to ensure they are better coordinated, focus on prevention and are high-quality, culturally appropriate, and truly responsive to the needs of children, youth and families”.
Your voice is vital to the success of the engagement process, and future improvements to the child welfare system. Youth, families, caregivers, community partners, and front-line workers are being asked to provide feedback on their experiences and ideas to support better outcomes, through an online survey in English or French. The survey is available on the Ministry’s website, as well as the agency’s website. Please take the time to share your insights.
The agency, and the child welfare sector, welcome the opportunity to improve practice and enhance outcomes through evidence-informed decision-making focused on the safety, permanency and well-being of children and youth. Thank you in advance for helping share the survey. The survey will continue to be available until October 11, 2019.
