Hamilton Child and Family Supports (formerly The Hamilton Children’s Aid Society) is seeking candidates for our Board of Directors and Board committees beginning June 2024.
It’s an exciting time to be involved with the organization as it goes through transformational change. Hamilton Child and Family Supports (HCFS) recently launched a new name and logo after extensive community feedback to reflect its focus on early help, keeping families together and engaging with the community to provide for the safety, permanency and well-being for children, youth and families in Hamilton.
This is an opportunity to join a board to provide governance and oversight along with advocacy for children, youth and families. We are also looking for community members who can join a board committee. Specific areas of expertise that would complement the board include education, quality assurance, privacy, finance, communications and health-care.
We welcome diversity and inclusivity in the agency’s governance and are seeking/encouraging individuals from diverse communities to apply for this exciting opportunity. Specifically, we are looking for members from the Indigenous, Black, racialized and LGBTQ2S+ communities, and who are bilingual.
If you are interested in joining Hamilton Child and Family Supports as we look for more opportunities for innovation and partnership with local communities and community organizations, we want to hear from you.
We will be hosting a virtual board/volunteer recruitment event on Tuesday March 5, 2024 from 7 pm – 8 pm. If you are interested in attending the event or learning more about being on the Board or on a board committee, please reach out to Lisa Wedmann at lwedmann@hamiltoncfs.ca or at 905-522-1121 ext. 6101
